Minimalist interior designs involve use of the bare essential elements to create a simple and uncluttered space. It is characterized by simplicity, clean lines, and a subtle colour palette with colour used as an accent.

It focuses on the shape, colour and texture of just a handful of necessary elements.Minimalistic approach makes this small space look spacious, organized and clutter free.

Space is divided in three parts: seating area, service area and utility area. Available space had a very strict volume offered because of large columns and deep beams which led to very simple arrangement of service and utility areas. Seating area was divided into two parts, a conventional seating with table and chairs and a traditional Korean seating “Anbang” with low height seating and low tables. Mezzanine space was occupied with the low height traditional Korean seating and conventional seating occupied the lower-level seating area.

The façade reflects Hanok Façade. The facades of Hanok (a traditional Korean house) typically consist of a large front gate "maru" and wooden lattice windows "hanji".

The small space had to accommodate a billing desk, a toilet and a wash basin, a staircase to go up to mezzanine area, a shoe rack for low seating, a storage space, a fridge, a service platform, a window to connect to the kitchen and a dining area. In order to make this space look spacious and seamless all sharp edges were eliminated and smooth round edges were formed to the walls and ceiling.

The colour palette was inspired by the traditional Korean colour pallet used in traditional dress “Hanbok”. Light green used for wall and partitions and light pink for tables making it a perfect background for bright and vibrant coloured food that is served here. The cherry blossom tree (beot-kkot) brings a lively element to otherwise minimal ambience and forms a contrast to visually hold the space.
